The GunnerCase has an excellent patent pending design, inspired by the air-cell design of a shotgun recoil pad. For those of you who have used a recoil pad, you will know how effectively it absorbs impact, and carries almost no weight. The GunnerCase is streamlined in design and offers great impact protection. Whilst it is only slightly larger than some basic 'fashion' cases for the iPhone4, it is slim enough to slip easily into your pocket and look stylish on the phone. It is one of the slimmest 'protection case' we have come across.

Remember, incredible as it seems, whole year has passed by and its is only 17 days until Toomer Bros will see you at CLA Game Fair 2012!

Our destination was the IWA 2012 trade show in Nuremberg, Germany.  It is a real shame you might never be able to see what it’s all about as it’s just us retailers and manufacturers, but let me try and give you some idea.  Picture for a moment pretty much every leading gunsmith and outdoor clothing retailer in the world and put them in a giant exhibition centre in Germany.  Then add a lot of fine bratwurst and beer.  There is far too much to out in these pages so best give you our trip in numbers:

We were very happy to have such great feedback from all of our new customers.  Also, it has been great seeing our jacket in a number of publications, including Shooting UK , Field Sports and seeing a Toomer Bros jacket in the QC Gun Club 

When you have a passion for shooting, those long months after February can seem to stretch out forever.   Never fear, there is plenty to look forward to this year.  It is under six months until CLA Game Fair 2012 at Belvoir Castle, when you can start to prepare for the next season. 

Following such a superb year, what better way to end the season than on a family run pheasant shoot surrounded by great people, with a relaxed atmosphere where you can't help but have a good time.  It wasn’t about the size of the bag, but rather a few for the pot and for the experience of walking through fields with the sun breaking through the clouds.  It’s about waiting in expectation for that chance of the day... and waiting... and waiting a little more, but when it did come, what a moment!

We are now in serious planning mode for the year ahead and have some great products under development, which we are looking forward to testing and getting a number of you involved!  Now does anyone have a cracking recipe for pheasant?

It really was a perfect moment watching the sun going down sitting on a club veranda with a cold beer and reflecting on a great day shooting.  We managed to meet some incredible people from all over the world, especially from America.  Our thanks goes out to those guys who made the weekend so enjoyable. There was an incredible range of shotguns and rifles that you could try and if you ever get the chance to fire black powder we encourage you to go and do it. We thought we would also give you a little taste of one of the many full English breakfasts we managed to consume at the Surrey Rifle Association.  Food and shooting really is an excellent combination.

A special mention also goes out to those who tried and bought a full Toomer Bros shooting jacket in 30c heat.  An excellent effort all round.  With autumn back with us, we have some great chances to wear one out there for real.

It was great to meet all of you who we have only known “virtually”, and to see you all wearing and using your new Toomer Bros shooting jackets. 

For one of our new customers his Toomer Bros is now his “lucky partridge coat”, which is fantastic to hear.  This got me thinking about lucky items of clothing and I was then saddened as I remembered every item of lucky shooting clothing I have owned, including a pretty special flat cap I have lost.  Hopefully they are bringing luck to whoever has found them and hope our jackets bring you that little bit extra when you are out in the field.

Next up we will be a Bisley Live at the end of the week.  It promises to be a cracking show, but with possibly less information about hedgehogs!

Without even thinking about it you are going forward in the footsteps of those who have gone before.  Toomer Bros is here for you to make sure you are ready and equipped for a fantastic season ahead of you.  

It’s not quite the start to the season we normally experience out in the field.  However the provision of shooting attire is a noble enterprise that has been carried on for generations.  From clothiers such as  E.Tautz,  who managed with some flair to deck out gentleman shots for over a century, Toomer Bros is here in 2011 and it’s great for us to know we are carrying on that tradition.

There seems to be a little bit more of a chill in the air.  As we say goodbye to summer, we are looking forward to braving the elements and venturing forth into the field.

Next stop for us is the Midlands Game Fair at Weston Park 17th & 18th of September. After the fantastic response we had from the CLA Game Fair we hope to meet many more of you there.

So we tried our best to meet all 148,500 people, and after three fantastic days, three 6.00am starts and at least two 13.00am finishes, it certainly felt like we had done.  We want to thank all those who are now proud owners of a new Toomer Bros shooting jacket and we can’t wait to hear from you in the future.  Toomer Bros jackets are now to be found on the backs of keen shots across the UK, Germany, France, Italy, USA and Switzerland and you might even find some being tested in St Moritz this January.

Let’s just say, it has been an exciting journey so far. 

It’s been over 200 years since the Toomer brothers decided it was a fine idea to train a pig as a gun dog.  For us, it's been over two years since we decided it was a fine idea to breathe some life in to the shooting clothing market, and bring you a contemporary range of shooting jackets.  Of course, there are many out in the field who will always prefer a nice heavy tweed, and indeed on the right day, it can be the perfect companion.   However, we felt that the style and functionality of many shooting jackets had stopped developing somewhere in the 1970s.  So, we have worked hard and are getting ready to show you what we have been doing with our time.

Shooting today is certainty not like it used to be!

 In developing the jacket we spent our time wisely, with a good deal in the field, some along the coast, taking in the highlands and some talking to the guns.  We have listened to the needs of modern guns, heard their views on style, cut and fashion, as well as questioning the tales of that last high bird, taken with the last shot, of the last drive of the day.   Working in the real home of gun making, the East End of London, which is still the home of Watson Brothers, we aim to carry on the great traditions and innovation which have been the foundations of English shooting for centuries.

We find ourselves at the time of year when it doesn't matter if you live in the country, the city or indeed another country, as we descend onto a splendid field at Blenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, surrounded by dogs (and this year, at least one pig), for the CLA Game Fair.

We want to meet every one of you at the CLA Game Fair, and we really do mean that.  Although daunted by the challenge of shaking over 150,000 hands over three days, let us see if it can be done.  If you are passing by the Toomer Bros stand B339, come in and say hello!  We would like nothing better than to show you our products, and hear what you think.
